What is concussion management?
Concussion management is a specific approach to diagnosing, treating and supporting recovery from a mild traumatic brain injury (mTBI). At Strive Health and Physiotherapy we use evidence-based techniques to assess your symptoms, monitor your progress and develop individualised strategies to promote healing. We want to help you get back to normal and get back to your daily activities or sport.

Concussion management is for anyone who has had a head injury from sport, accident or falls. If you’re experiencing symptoms such as headaches, dizziness, difficulty concentrating or fatigue our team can help you recover safely. It’s also ideal for athletes who need guidance on returning to play or individuals who need workplace accommodations during their recovery.

What should I expect during my first visit?
Your first visit will involve an assessment of your symptoms, medical history and functional abilities. We may also assess your balance, coordination and cognitive function to understand the extent of your injury. Based on this we will develop an individualised treatment plan that may include symptom management strategies, exercises to improve balance and coordination and guidance on gradually returning to activities.
How often do I need treatment?
The frequency of treatment depends on the severity of your symptoms and stage of recovery. Most clients see us weekly to start with and then follow up as needed.
